It often takes a little while for new comers to the team to get in the habit of signing up on Doodle. This is the way we keep our event organization simple and transparent. Before this we spent a lot of time on the phone, with out of date lists on whiteboards. If you are not signed up you may not get a seat. If you sign up and don’t show then you may not get a seat the next two events. Parent volunteers get understandably irritated if they come to drive and they are not needed.
A lot of people do not immediately realize that they can edit their entries on Doodle. If you go to the far left of your line an editing symbol will pop up. Doing this helps stop the table getting bigger and bigger.
If conditions permit we will have our first on snow practice at the Auburn Ski Club Training Center after school on Wednesday Nov 18. We will return to school by 8 pm ( normally 7:30 pm). Equipment will be distributed on Monday and Tuesday after school. More details in the Team Email sent out tonight.
After this weekend we will be in regular practice mode. To give the Cross Country runners who have Section Champs on Saturday a chance to have a dedicated beginner session I have set one for 9 -11 am Sunday Nov 15 in Room B-3. It will probably be raining so we will stay in room B-3. If you plan to attend sign up on Doodle.
At present I have 31 names on my roster. As of this morning 5 of these are still not cleared for sport. You will not be able to practice on Monday unless you bring the pink sheet signed by Debbie Schorcht (Student Store) to the practice. I have uploaded a table showing the current state of paperwork. Please look at this. I still have not received a number of Consent to Treat Forms (it is possible that there are some in my box that I have not seen yet). You need to get me a consent to treat before you can practice. The column in the table headed CTT shows those that are missing.
In addition I am still waiting for some contact information and some athlete size information. After practices get under way we will deal with some additional paperwork such as the Equipment Agreement, Parent Chaperone Form and the Auburn Ski Club Membership Package. These are not needed to start practice.
For High School Racers the ASC Membership Package is available. Please talk to the coach if you have any questions. This must be completed and turned into coach before you go to the snow.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (Nov 3,4,5) there will be Beginner Sessions in B-3 after school for those athletes who are not still involved in Fall Sport. Please sign up on Doodle and remember to bring your Sport Clearance, Consent to Treat and a helmet.
